The end of an era: an update

Yesterday was my last day as a coach and volunteer for the RDA group I've been part of since I was 18. It's the hardest decision I've ever had to make, but the last couple of years in particular have been tough and I know it's the right one. I'm glad to have made it on my terms. Saying goodbye was even harder, but that's only testament to the depth of the relationships I've made: it's au revoir, not a forever thing.

It's not goodbye to RDA forever either, but I'm working out what my next steps look like. I'm not a great believer in fate, but I know this is something I should keep doing. For now, I won't have much to talk about, either here or on my Instagram (I haven't written any long posts this year because I've had so much to figure out), but I'm sure there will be lots to share in the future. I'm proud of what I've achieved, and way more importantly the part I've had in others' achievements - there's a whole lot of me that's gone into the last twelve and a half years.

Thank you to everyone who wished me well from near and far and made a hard day not a bad day yesterday. Thank you also to those who've kept up with my writing over the last nearly five years. Here's to the future.
